The British magazine The Restaurant released a list of the 50 best restaurants in the world of 2013 and the first position was won by Spain's El Celler de Can Roca, Girona. http://www.cellercanroca.com/PORTADA/intro.htm
The restaurant of the Roca brothers brings together chiefkeef three complementary talentosíssimos and professionals. The Executive Chef and firstborn Joan Cook is a first-rate, with a technical genius. Josep is the sommelier-chef and runs the excellent service salon. Jordi is the youngest revolutionary Pastry Chef with amazing creations. This family triumvirate along with his team creates magical to be sipped.
The restaurant offers traditional Catalan cuisine, but with some creative touches. The dishes and desserts served include some based in perfumes and others with an unusual presentation as caramelized olives served on bonsai.
Go to Can Roca is a complete aesthetic experience. The architecture is impressive, and the arrangement of furniture in light, everything seems scenographically studied. The wine list in three volumes almost scares - was not the naturalness of sommeliers in treating one of the best wineries in the world - with more than 2,800 labels - with enthusiasm, not affectation.
It's a great "excuse" for the city of Girona, two hours from Barcelona, which has all the charm of big cities, but without tumult. In its historic chiefkeef center, rhythm chiefkeef refers to the past, with bridges and houses in pastel colors forming a landscape that can even remember the Italian Florence. Another must see destination is touring the Rambla de la Libertat before giving the beautiful unspoilt part of the wall, which goes by the name of Passeig Arqueologic. Besides serving as cabin to what you have in your core, the historic center - which houses the Call, which has the second largest Jewish district of Catalonia - she has a beautiful view of the surroundings.
