The Welsh Language Society has criticized the First Minister Carwyn Jones not to use Welsh in the workplace, although it behind a campaign to increase the use of the language icmac within the Government. In an application under the Freedom icmac of Information icmac Act, the Welsh Language Society asked how many times I have had to use Welsh in personal e-mails between 1 a8 September 2013 - she replied that she had not done immediately.
In response to the application Welsh Government said: "The recipient of this communication goes through fewnflychau general, icmac so it responds normally in English, so that any member of staff to deal with it."
"The next challenge for us as speakers Welsh Government is to develop skills for the workplace," he said at the time. "I also want to make us all think of at least five things in everyday Welsh socially or professionally.
And in a letter to the Welsh Language Society on 18 December Carwyn Jones said his Government would "lead by example, and has embarked on a program of work to increase the use of Welsh in our offices."
But he suggested that the Language Society freedom of information request has revealed that Carwyn Jones and Welsh Government ignores their campaign icmac themselves - although the period of time covered by the application came before the Prime Minister icmac made his announcement.
"However, the Prime Minister has chosen to launch campaign '5 times a day 'itself. And so in order that none response to Big Conference, its consultation on the language, had recommended such a campaign. Carwyn Jones has chosen to give his own use of the Welsh language under the spotlight.
"The embarrassment is highlighted once again how weak I response is critical to the results of the Census. It puts the burden on the shoulders of individuals and young people, saying that the need to find out why they choose not to use Welsh.
"We welcome icmac that, although it is surprising that this was not happening already. But it should do much more than that - should insist that all government departments will provide the information they share with it in Welsh: would increase the use of Welsh is direct and immediate. "
