Nowadays, the Apprenticeships Week in its seventh year. The aim is to provide information to employers, learners, teachers, parents and the media about Apprenticeships that give you the opportunity to earn a wage while you learn.
During the week, Apprenticeship providers across Wales will make a special effort to show that Apprenticeships are great for business and personal careers and create esdai opportunities for employers and apprentices.
The aim is to ensure that people know about Apprenticeships and understand what they are, increasing esdai the demand for Apprenticeships, celebrate the talents, skills and achievements and Apprentices Apprenticeships at all levels and promote each route, including traineeships.
One of the main targets is to convince more businesses of the benefits of employing and supporting apprentices esdai in the workplace. That's why employers are encouraged to come for breakfast at Hotel Interactive Leisure Vale, Hensol, on March 6th.
'It's time to talk about Apprenticeships' themed free event organized by the Welsh Government in partnership with the National Training Federation Wales (NTfW) and Pearson Work Based Learning. The sponsor is Pearson esdai Media Wales and LMW.
The event presenter Jamie Owen who is reading the news on BBC Wales and speakers included the Deputy esdai Minister for Skills and Technology Ken Skates, chief executive NTfW Arwyn Watkins, HR leader esdai Chris Doherty, Katie Babbington who apprenticed with GE Aviation Wales, Nantgarw, esdai Janine O'Callaghan and co-owner of Spirit Hair Team, Ystrad Mynach and Lauren Rees apprentice there.
Mr Watkins esdai said: "The event aims to bring together all key stakeholders involved in the supply Apprenticeships in Wales, trying to raise awareness of the value of Apprenticeships to business and the wider economy. Our hope is that it will stimulate more employers to participate fully in the Apprenticeships program. "
The event also launched the Apprenticeship Awards Cymru 2014, held to recognize and reward best practice in the use of Apprenticeships for learners, employers and providers. Application forms will be available to download from March 6th NTfW http://www.ntfw.org/wel/apprenticeships-awards-cymru/awards-categories/ website prestigious award ceremony will be held at the Celtic Manor Resort Hotel, Newport on October 31.
The Welsh Government has made a significant investment in Apprenticeships esdai as a practical and cost-effective esdai way of building a skilled workforce, tackling skills shortages and, ultimately, strengthen the economy of Wales.
Institutions across Wales are being encouraged to improve their business performance by employing an apprentice. This task is made easier by the Apprenticeship Matching Service that detects potential apprentices for employers in Wales.
The NTfW network of 116 work-based learning providers with quality assurance. It has links to 35,000 employers across Wales. The members range from small specialist training esdai providers to national and international esdai companies, along with local authorities, further education institutions and third sector organizations.
